Try any of the hotels in the Osa Peninsula. You will find exactly what you are looking for there. Osa is isolated and much less “touristy” than other areas in Costa Rica. The TicosLand.com directory has many hotel listings in Costa Rica that you might want to take a look at so just follow the link.

2I definitely recommend the Pacific Coast! My favorite beach is Playa Conchal near Tamarindo and Flamingo. It is gorgeous and PERFECT for snorkeling. The water is extremely clear and calm. As far as cannopying I recommend you do the canopy tour/zip line at Arenal in La Fortuna. It is a lot of fun and worth the travel from the beach to see it. I am guessing it is about a four hour drive. I am not sure, I have never gone directly from one to the other. A trip to Costa Rica would not be complete without seeing Arenal. It is an active volcano that you can actually see light up at night, pretty neat. Paraisus Playa Conchal is an awesome resort located directly on Playa Conchal…it is pricey but awesome!

4I have visited the country and seen almost all areas, I really really like the service i got from as they not only have ready made individual packages (that can be set up for the dates you want) but they can also make your package according to what you want – where you want it. Also all their services are vip and can be adapted to budget travelers. plus, they are located within Costa Rica and from what my travel agent Carol told me they personally stay at all the hotels they sell to see the service first hand. she even sent me some of her own photos of the hotel i was going to visit in Manuel Antonio, she had been there and even knew what room had the best views. I highly recommend them.

6If you want to find just one place to hunker down, Manuel Antonio would be a good choice. Museums aren’t worth much in this country. But really, you need to buy a good guide book, or at LEAST get one out of the library. Don’t depend on a few tiny blubs on Yahoo Answers. Lonely Planet is a great choice. If you don’t do your homework, you won’t get the most of your vacation.
